Their jive and jazz sets spark with energy, and swagger with a little bit of punk on the side. Formed in 2003 for the Cork Jazz festival The Roaring Forties have continued to mesmerize and enrapture audience’s all over Europe and the States, bringing back the fun and musical adventure of the bands that toured circa the era their name references. They have performed with The Jive Aces, Sharon Shannon Niamh Kavanah, Jon Kenny, Paddy Cole, and support the Drifters all over Ireland and Europe

Now there's a treat. Ken is away in Cuba at the end of April so George tried his luck and asked Van Morrissons sax play Richie Buckley to play with them at The Derry Jazz Festival, Richie has played with us a few times, "We have always been lucky enough to have some of the best players around play with us, This festival the crowds will flock to see Richie play, A legend in his own lunchtime. we are excited"

Ken Marshall is back playing full time with the band, Kens sax playing is such a great addition and was missed for a while, one of the original members Ken left as his own teaching schedule became biusy. welcome back. Paul Dunlea is back at university doing his masters, we get him when we can, he must be one of the hardest working Trombone players in the Europe.

"Swing til you die" The Roaring Forties first album has just been made available on cd baby and itunes, its not on line at the moment although it should be soon. Live at the Savoy in Cork its raw and great, full band, Guitar and brass section and fun.
A new album is currently being mixed, it promises bigger arrangements and is the first studio recording since oh Marie with Jon Kenny. George is currently working with John Fitz at Lettercollum studios in Timoleague Ireland at ironing out all the idiosincracies before final mastering.
Jon Kenny and Pat Short are an item again, touring as The Dunbelievables, George is hoping to re release the EP oh marie and has asked Pat short if he wants to put the sax line down and join in the fun on the recording, The Roaring Forties are all great fans of Jon and Pat and wish them the greatest success.
